Welcome to our Spring Interfaith Council website. We hope you’ll find it informative as well as motivating; let’s do some good together. As the summer draws to an end, we are in the planning stages of several upcoming events this fall. Please mark your calendars and join us if you are able.
All ages are welcome to attend a special remembrance ceremony of 9/11, the honoring of our troops, and service on the sacred grounds of Houston National Cemetery on Saturday, September 12th. This annual National Day of Service has been occurring here in Houston for 5 years and is one of the largest in the country!
In honor of International Day of Peace, a committee of Spring Interfaith Council members is preparing a beautiful evening of Taize music, prayer, and meditation to be held on Sunday, September 27th at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church. It was a spectacular experience last year and we hope you’ll bring family and friends this year. (See Event In Calendar)
Our “Women’s Voices” continues to meet each month with wonderful conversation about a book of recent choosing. We welcome women of all ages and faiths to join us the first Thursday of each month.(See Event In Calendar)
And one of our longest standing traditions is in the beginning planning stages as well – our annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Worship Service! This year’s host is St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church and the service will be on Thursday, November 19th. A committee has formed and will begin meeting Tuesday August 11 at 10:30am. Having you there to help plan would be a blessing.
Details of these and other events can be found on our website and in our monthly newsletter.
Gathering, listening to learn, serving together, and striving for a better community is at the heart of each event Spring Interfaith Council members plan. YOU are needed. Join Us. Strengthen Faith. Unite for Understanding.
Sincerely,
Diane Hunt
